• Check the recommended tire pressure for your vehicle, which can be found on a sticker inside the driver’s door, in the owner’s manual, or sometimes on the fuel door. The pressure is usually listed in PSI (pounds per square inch).  
• For the most accurate reading, check tire pressure when the tires are cold, meaning the car hasn’t been driven for at least three hours. You’ll have to locate the valve stem on the tire, and unscrew the small cap.   
• Press the tire pressure gauge firmly onto the valve stem. You’ll hear a brief hiss of air, which is normal. Keep the gauge pressed until you get a reading. Digital gauges will display the pressure on a screen, while analog gauges will show it on a dial. Compare reading with the recommended tire pressure, add air if it is lower than recommended.
